Thanks for writing this Dru, I loved the Salt Path when I read it shortly after it came out and I'm saddened that someone decided to spoil the story by saying it wasn't exactly true.
I am sad about what has happened in relation to this book and their story, I enjoyed listening to it, and I think you're right if it had been told as 'based on a true story' they would not have found themselves in this situation.
One thing you wrote really underlined this for me, 'Yet, in a sense, all the stories we tell are based on a true story. Even if we can vividly relive our memories, we will never see any perspective except our own.'
Thanks for this perspective, Dru. As always, well written! x
A balanced view of the events surrounding 'The Salt Path', Dru, well done; I enjoyed reading your post.
Dru, I'd never heard of the condition, SDAM, before. It must be quite disorienting, thanks for being open about it. I'm glad you have understood and managed it.
Thanks, Yasmin. As the story developed during the week, I wanted to be fair and even-handed. And really, it's not about Raynor Winn at all, but about how to approach truth-telling.
Getting to grips with SDAM has been confusing, but also incredibly liberating. I can't tell you how often I doubted myself and the reality of my experiences, or sat with confused therapists who offered unhelpful reasons for the gaps in my memory. Understanding that my brain simply works differently, I'm able to work with the tools I have, rather than an idealised mind that's beyond my reach. And I'm learning to be more comfortable with not knowing.
Why is the media obsessed with vilifying this author ? Every mainstream media outlet seem hellbent on crucifying Raynor Winn as if they are the bastions of truth… What are they distracting us from ? A pathetic attempt to cause more division amongst the people , a quality they are so practiced at .In my opinion they are spending too much time and energy on this woman … is it to distract the masses from the real issues humanity is facing ? a genocide , an ecocide , an omnicide all happening at once caused by a few entities that want to depopulate us , sterilise our children , poison our food and water, sedate us by dropping heavy metals from the skies etc.
Or maybe the roll out of the CBDC ? Or how about people dropping dead at an unprecedented rate ? Too many other things to mention here…
Raynor Winn wrote a book, she adjusted some facts to make an interesting story, she never once forced anyone to buy this book , if you didn’t buy her book she didn’t come knocking on your door demanding you bought her book( only the BBC does this if God forbid you choose not to have a television and choose not to contribute to their nest of pedos)
People need to start seeing who their real enemy is .

Lovely stuff Dru, thank you
Pleasure, as always.

Thoughtful and insightful, particularly in respect of how our understanding of ourselves can change, separating honesty from accuracy.
Understanding that honesty and accuracy are not the same is a useful perspective, Pete. Thanks for reading.
