On hot summer days, sunlight and a gentle breeze set the canopy shimmering in a thousand shades of green. Occasionally, a shaft of light reaches the woodland floor. But there is a cool stillness in the shade of a beech tree.
Beech derive its names from the old word for book; its smooth wood and bark were traditionally used as writing surfaces. In the forest of myth and meaning, beech stands silent, issuing its invitation to inscribe ourselves on the surface of the world.
Its leaves will begin to turn soon. So, while the world is verdant still, find the dappled shade of a beech tree. Write your story in its leaves and branches.

Another lovely observation, Dru. Thank you for sharing, I have learnt something new today!
I never knew that about beech. I will harmonise more with beech trees now!
