Our minds tend to form the strongest memories around moments that are emotionally heightened. We recall celebrations, ruminate on arguments, but forget the ordinary Wednesdays.
But memory can be deliberate, too. This week, take time to notice something unremarkable, maybe something that you walk past every day that typically bypasses your attention. Slow down and see it. Approach it with all of your senses. Let yourself become entranced by it.
Embrace an attitude of radical curiosity. However you capture your memories - in mental images, stories, pictures or feelings - let the unremarkable take centre stage.
